Outdoor Sofas & Lounge Sets

An outdoor lounge set endures year-round weather exposure, making core material construction far more important than cushion colour alone. Across our range of over 200 sets, spanning acacia wood, steel, and polyethylene (PE) wicker builds, start your search by evaluating local climate and storage options rather than focusing solely on layout photos.

Outdoor sofa & lounge set material options

Our collection features PE wicker lounge sets, woven from all-weather synthetic resin to resist fading and moisture far better than natural rattan. For a warmer, timber-led look, our acacia wood sets deliver natural hardwood appeal while requiring simple seasonal maintenance to preserve weather resistance.

Steel-framed sets offer another option, typically lighter to move for cleaning underneath but requiring a rust-resistant coating and occasional upkeep to last outdoors long term. If the set lives on an exposed patio with no roof, PE wicker or steel will generally outlast timber without too much extra upkeep. A covered alfresco area gives acacia wood more room to be the better-looking choice without the weather downside.

Pair a new lounge set with an outdoor table sized to the same configuration for a ready to go entertainment and relaxation space.

Modular and fixed outdoor sofa and lounge set configurations

Configurations range from compact 2-seater armchair-and-table sets up to larger 5-seater modular lounge sets, with several built specifically as outdoor modular sofas that can be rearranged the same way an indoor modular sofa can. Compact 2-seater sets suit balconies and small courtyards where floor space is limited, while a 5-seater modular configuration fits larger backyard spaces where you might reconfigure your seating layout from season to season. For extra comfort, add some outdoor cushions with covers that are removable for washing, as cushion inclusion and type can vary by set.

If the outdoor space is built more around dining than lounging, our range of outdoor dining sets covers that in a combined and matched set instead.

Keeping an outdoor lounge set looking new season to season

PE wicker resists fading and moisture better than natural rattan, which makes it one of the lower-maintenance builds if the set lives on an exposed patio with no roof and may be subject to summer showers or winter storms throughout the year. Acacia wood brings a warmer, timber-led look but generally needs more seasonal care to stay weather-resistant, while a steel frame needs a rust-resistant coating to last outdoors long term and is typically lighter to move for cleaning underneath ore reconfiguration.

Light grey and black combinations lead our popular colour range, followed closely by light wood and dark grey tones. A darker set tends to hide everyday marks and pollen better through the warmer months than a lighter one does. Prioritise frame material and weather resistance over cushion trends. Investing in a long-lasting base gives you a reliable foundation, allowing you to easily refresh or swap cushion colours down the track.

Matching the lounge set's tone to your outdoor dining pieces is easiest when both are chosen at the same time.

Frequently asked questions

How many seats do outdoor lounge sets typically come in?

Our range spans compact 2-seater armchair-and-table sets up to larger 5-seater modular configurations with everything in between. Choose based on the floor space available.

Is PE wicker better than natural rattan for outdoor furniture?

For outdoor exposure, yes. PE wicker is a synthetic resin designed to resist fading and moisture. Natural rattan needs more protection from direct weather and upkeep similar to natural timber options.

Do outdoor lounge sets need to be covered when not in use?

It depends on the material. Outdoor lounge sets are engineered to withstand weather exposure, though powder-coated steel and PE wicker generally offer greater resistance to rain and UV rays than natural timber. Covering your outdoor lounge set when not in use can help extend the lifetime and reduce upkeep requirements, especially if they're kept on an uncovered balcony or patio.

Can outdoor lounge sets be rearranged like an indoor modular sofa?

Several sets in our range are built as modular outdoor sofas specifically for this, with sections designed to be rearranged into more than one layout.

What size lounge set suits a small balcony?

A compact 2-seater set with a matching table is usually the best fit. Larger 5-seater modular sets need more open floor space to work.
