My cat gyms with me, she's got a solid PR for her body weight! The weights seem accurate(?) The short dumbbell bar is good for maintaining, not so much gaining (especially gym girlies who just want to maintain strength and fitness level). I would not recommend using the straight bar- I fear for my toes because it doesn't seem like the weights are supported by the bar. I bought another competitor straight bar which fits the plates perfectly so please protect your toes! Maybe it was just me- but the cleanliness of the plates was not up to standard when I received them; they had this white chalky substance on them but I wiped them off and it was fine. All in all it's worth getting this if you aren't looking to bulk!
