Emma Duckworth describes her style as 'bohemian rustic', perhaps a reflection of her well-travelled life. Having spent time in Asia and Europe, she is now based in Sydney where she is a stylist, decorator and keen amateur photographer. We spotted her whimsical style (and tempting baked goods) on Instagram and asked her to share her week in pictures...
Splitting my time between interior decorating and freelance styling means that every week is different from the one before. When decorating, days comprise of client meetings, briefings, furniture selecting, costing, supplier visits, trade shows, shopping, site visits and furniture installs. Throw into the mix styling work which involves concept planning, prop sourcing, packing, shoot days, item returns, unpacking etc and you'll see that I live by my old school hardback diary like it was my bible! Luckily I have an ever adoring and supportive husband who puts up with my sudden change of plans and helps me work out just how I am going to catch all the balls I have in the air that week!

Generally, I start off the week with my decorating hat on. I head into the office to draw up the furniture plans and finalise the fabric selections for a project due in March. Think the beach house from Revenge - Emily's divine piece of seaside aqua bliss with vintage bottles, sisal rugs, coral, and rope knot lamps - and you'll understand why I am itching to install this one.

I got all crafty this morning and tested out making these glitter dipped card feathers for an event next week. I think 100 of these tied as bunting will make quite the impact. On the night I'm styling a dining table to a Secret Garden theme – my vision is trailing vines, whimsical details, loose unstructured foliage, feathers and moss – so very me! You'll get to see some snaps on Instagram I have no doubt!

Part of my role as a decorator means sourcing interesting accessories that go into homes. My client has a penchant for vintage paraphernalia so you will often find me wandering through second hand shops filled to the brim with pre-loved pieces. Close to home is the Antique General Store in Narrabeen where I walk away with a small old school typewriter, some glass bottles, a fishing net and a length of boat rope. I adore the floor throughout the store and can only imagine the number of feet that have meandered across those boards.

I've been asked to be the interiors/styling expert for an exciting new website about to be launched. Home Heaven is the sister website to Beauty Heaven and provides the 'chat over the fence' approach to all things regarding the home. I'll be a frequent guest blogger with the occasional 'how to' video. I'm currently researching the content for a blog post and Pinterest never fails to provide a mountain of inspiration.

I'm styling the newest collection of bridal accessories for Three Sunbeams next week. The shoot requires a fair amount of flowers, so I decide to set the alarm for 4.00am and head to the Sydney Flower Markets. In all honesty, I love any excuse to go to the markets - the buzz and energy of that place so early in the morning is extraordinary and with my haul of roses, dahlias, daisies & water lilies I happily return home before anyone else has even risen! The props required for this shoot are all so delicate and pretty - it is going to be one gorgeous shoot.

I'm visiting my friend and fellow interior designer, Sherilyn Heise, who is imminently launching an online scatter cushion range. She has asked for my assistance in styling the shots for her catalogue so our meeting is spent sussing out locations, props and the style of photography we need to achieve the look she is after. I adore the cute boat inspired fabric and I leave with my mind full of inspiration of sandy feet, old wooden wharfs, sea salt air and fishing off the pier.

Even after having lived here for ten years (can't believe it has been that long!), I am forever grateful to have such close access to the beach lifestyle that I adore. We love nothing more on a weekend than to head down to our favourite beaches for a couple of hours - Curl Curl or Freshwater for the waves or Manly Wharf or Little Collins for calmer waters with a killer harbour view.

I'm a baker…that's no surprise! My Instagram feed is littered with cake shots. I love it … always have so it's something I do with the girls nearly every weekend. Today's creations are coconut and lime cupcakes … no shortage of takers in my household. I'm relinquishing creative control and letting them work their magic with the buttercream and coconut!

At weekends my husband and I love to have family or friends over for a bite to eat. Today it's a scorcher of a day and dare I say it, too hot to be outside on the balcony. So it's inside in the cool of the air-conditioning whilst we wait for our friends to arrive. On the menu: a scrumptious Asian Salmon Salad washed down with a cool glass of white wine - the perfect end to the week.
