We first introduced Eva Fischer as the creator of this colourful beet salad with fig. It went off with a bang, so we've invited her back to share a bit more of her day to day life.
As regular readers will know, Eva runs an award winning Austrian food blog called Foodtastic and wears many creative hats – from food photographer and stylist, to recipe writer, illustrator, nutritionist and workshop host. She's got a lot of love to share, so we thought we'd pass that on to you...
I love: the quote "when life gives you lemons, make lemonade". It sums up my story of being diagnosed with coeliac disease 8 years ago (which was really hard) and the turning point for making my passion my pay-check.
I love: gluten-free porridge in the morning. This one is made out of millet, fresh fruit, seeds and almond milk. You can find the recipe here.
I love: being in the kitchen. I think of it as my second office. It's where I create not just my own food, but also the food for my blog and food photography pictures.
I love: drawing (food, of course). Especially vegetables. You can see some of my illustrations here.
I love: my red Vespa. It's so handy for summer in Vienna.
I love: being a food photographer. I also love traveling. Especially the combination food and travel. I recently returned from a month in Central America and, prior to that, a surf trip to Sri Lanka. I've also lived in Sydney for 6 months and New Zealand for a year.
I love: to hang out on my rooftop. It overlooks Vienna and is especially good in the warmer months.
I love: the entrance to my apartment. The light blue tool cabinet is an heirloom from my granddad. It's his own joinery. I really like the colours in the rug too – it's one of my favourite interior pieces.
I love: catching up with friends at o.m.k. They offer modern asian food with a lot of flavour. They also sell beautiful ceramics and the best Mochi cookies in town.
I love: collecting cookbooks. They give me endless inspiration. Here are just a few of the ones I own.
