Shorea Wood Storage Box

Fabulous for our wood storage. A little tricky to assemble however, works well. Sturdy construction. Looks great.

Assembly went well. It's quite solid, especially the lid, and should be very durable. I've separately attached lockable wheels, so it can be easily moved. It's quite heavy and lacks handles to lift and move; so, in the absence of wheels, I would certainly neeed to attach some lifting handles. As such, I think the overall design can be improved.

Great storage box, but as nearly every review says the installation of the spring loaded lid closer is a nightmare, here’s what I did: - do not install the floor of the box until last - unwind the tension of the spring using the Allen key at the base of the spring - wind out about 1cm and leave it like that - fix the closers to the lid first - close the mechanisms - invert the box on it’s end and fix the closer to the inside of the box while the lid is in the closed position - repeat on the other end - then install floor panels - worked like a dream but still a stiff spring to open and shut!

Easy to assemble. only drawback are the Hinges. a bit fiddly to fit but once worked out how to it was easy to fit to lid and Box

The box presents well but uses a fairly soft wood. I think the firewood that would be stored within the box would be harder than the box itself so I expect significant wear over time.

Great product. Easy to assemble but only put on one spring as it was too tight to get the second one on, but works well anyway. We use it at our side door for shoes. Sturdy enough to sit on.

A storage box large enough to store all my kids balls, bats, racquets and ourdoor games.

Would give stars if the too door hinge was a bit loose. Its really tight making it hard to open and shut. Otherwise very sturdy and fits well for the purpose.

Great outdoor box ,looks good - I gave an extra coat of furniture oil but much the same , will be outdoors undercover . The box part assembles quickly and is strong with only tiny gaps -so not much will blow in ( see pic of close fitting bottom ) The lid is heavy and is tricky to attach with very strong spring hinge ( that allows it to open without touching wall behind and stays up ) Our tips would be pre drill the pilot holes a bit deeper and buy better quality 20mm self tapping screws ( one supplied screw sheared off ), detach spring from hinge first then attach to lid , have 2 people to attach lid to box . We will put a handle on front as others have. It looks like it will last , strong enough for 2 adults to sit on too.

Exactly as described

This is a great storage box but, as said by many reviews, it is extremely difficult to get the lid connected. Thank you to those who detailed their struggles and what they did to resolve the issues. The instructions are useless.

Great storage box, it's currently in the lounge room while we wait for our deck to be repaired. We placed a couple of colourful cushions on top. Had lots of compliments. My only negative comment is the instructions for the lid mechanism was hard to follow.

Timber quality fine for the price but no details on instructions for hing placement and very stiff, difficult to use hinges meant challenge assembly and a not so easy to open, but great looking, storage box

Really happy with this storage box. It's sturdy and strong and a great size for all our sports equipment. The lid is a bit stiff to close but otherwise it's great!

When received it was packed well. I noted many had problems with the fitting of hinges in the comments section. I, too had the same problem, but nutted it out after some time. The springs have an Allen key slot at the base, just loosen this off and you have ample release to mount the hinge to the drill holes on the box and lid. Not a bad finish but will give it a coat of oil to help preserve the wood.

Good size. The springs are very strong, so need to be careful closing it - would not recommend around children.

Excellent product, well made however the instructions need an update. Not very helpful when installing the hinges.

This is a great outdoor box to clean up our deck. Good size The instructions to install the hinges on the other hand were non existent and need updating to avoid frustration. Overall very happy with our purchase

Finished up with a nice storage box but had to do a lot of work to remedy production faults that should have been picked up by quality control. Not up to T & W's usual high standards.

Quality product at lower price.

The finished product looks good and promises to deliver what it promises. Construction was pretty straightforward until the lid hinge stage where the instructions were unhelpful. For the record fit the hinges to the lid first. The front edge of the side plate that attaches to the box was for us 20cm from the back of the box. You could go a bit further.

Thus us a great storage box, although we did find it quite hard to get the spring loaded lid attached with minimal instructions provided.

This was purchased as a shoe box for the front deck. It looks brilliant but putting on the hinges was a bit tricky. I’m still not sure that I have done it properly. But it’s a nice piece of furniture.

Looks very sturdy, but you do need to be a handy person to put it together. The spring is also very tightly sprung

great outdoor box

Bought this as a toy box and it is a good size. I specifically wanted a wooden box to suit the decor. I would say , for the price, it is very poorly made, the wood planks as thin as they could be made and no attention to any defects or alignment. It should be at least half the price for the quality.

Really good quality for the price. A little difficult to install the springs.

This storage box is a good size for our small portico. It looks good and can be used as an additional seat which is handy. The timber is sturdy and the springs are strong. Assembly was easy for a handy man but I would not have been able to do it myself. We plan to treat the timber even though it is under cover from rain.

Attractive comfortable chair looks good in the bedroom certainly an asset would recommend

I bought the box for shoe storage and as a table/seat on my front step. It is good for this purpose but the springs on the lid are far too strong for it, so it tends to slam shut. It would be better if it had a handle (which we bought ourselves for it) so that the lid could be more easily raised and lowered. Some of the wood is discoloured too. It required a drill and some expertise to assemble.

Easy to assemble and feels very sturdy. Looking forward to keeping our wood in here in winter. Springs are a little stiff on the hinges so the lid bangs a bit when closing. We put some felt on the inside edges.

Wonderful product well used

Once assembled it looks very smart and the wood smells amazing. The hinge on the lid creaks a lot and it wasn’t super easy to assemble. A bit disappointing that is isn’t water proof.

Ok, was difficult to put together and they didn't last long in the elements, recommend putting them away during winter if you want longevity.

Unfortuantely didnt last a few down pours but T&W replaced it with instructions to oil first! New one going great!
