This painting shares a traditional Wiradjuri love story. The story of two young lovers, Pomingalana and Gobbagombalin, from different tribes and opposite sides of the river, who had fallen into a forbidden love.

Born on Wiradjuri Land in Wagga Wagga, artist Amanda Hinkelmann draws inspiration from her hometown. Curves, concentric circles and dot work in ochre tones portray a traditional Wiradjuri love story.
