Great underlay and really helps the rug not move. I have a hallway runner and two cats who are always running up and down and this has kept it solidly in place. Love it!

Works well under the rug. We purchased a shaped rug, so needed to trim down the mat, which was a bit of extra effort (and why I only gave 4 stars). But the mat performs exactly how it should and I would buy/recommend.
