It is recommended to burn your candle until the melt pool reaches the edge of the vessel to prevent tunnelling & maximise its lifespan; trim the wick to 0.6cm before each burn & avoid burning for more than three hours at a time; do not burn the candle completely down to the base; discontinue use when 1cm of wax remains; always burn on a stable, heat-resistant surface & avoid placing the candle in draughts
