Mina Mina Jukurrpa VIII Pink Canvas Art Print - This striking artwork represents the Mina Mina Dreaming, featuring a vibrant pink, orange, green and purple colour palette. Large, organic shapes and lines form this breathtaking piece, taking you on a journey through time and creation.
This Aboriginal artwork depicts the story of the women that danced in celebrations of the ‘mulju’ (Summer rains) at the Mina Mina, a very important women’s Dreaming site in the Northern Territory of Australia, while collecting ‘karlangu’ (digging sticks).
Their journey took them to far lands across the Northern Territory – from the west to the east of Yuendumu – creating many places as they went, while dancing, digging and collecting many ceremonial elements, such as ‘parraja’ carrying vessels made from ‘ngalyipi’, the snake vine that grows on the desert oak tree know as ‘kurrkara’. The Napangardi women embraced the opportunity to be with one another, and when they stopped, they delighted in bush tucker from the area, like the delicious desert truffle ‘jintiparnta’. The Dreaming track eventually took them far beyond Warlpiri country, into Queensland.

Bright & colourful
Artist Judy Napangardi Watson uses line work in an explosion of colour to depict the 'Jukurrpa' (Dreaming) that comes from Mina Mina, an important women's Dreaming site near Lake Mackay and the WA border.
Retains tautness over time
Stretched or framed using solid timber, the poly-cotton canvas is constructed for longevity. Its strength minimises the risk of rips and prevents it from losing tautness over time.
Reviews
Such beautiful colours and interesting design. The framing make the picture stand out even more.
