Product Review: Black Slimline Bookshelves (Temple & Webster) I recently purchased two black slimline bookshelves from Temple & Webster for my home office, and I couldn’t be happier with how they’ve transformed the space. Still a work in progress filling all the shelves but this is exactly what I wanted and the look I was going for. Perfect for all my skin care and perfumes etc. A bit tricky to put together but my two sons managed to do a great job. I was worried that the whole bookcase may tip forward but with the bigger base at the bottom and against the wall it’s perfect. I just love it.

Please check the dimensions very carefully if purchasing - the photos are misleading and I hadn't spotted that the foot of the bookshelf was deeper than the shelves (it doesn't help that the shelf depth is written in white on the dimensions diagram). It was also a little more fiddly to construct than similar flatpack things I've made in the past and the instructions could have been a little clearer. The dimensions thing was my own fault and it is a nice enough shelf. I like that all of the shelves are individually adjustable which gives a lot of flexibility. Very good value for the price if you are looking for a shallow shelving unit for dvds, cds, most novels etc.

I love this versatile shelving unit for my blu ray disc collection. It’s the right depth for the disc boxes and the modular design is very clever. After stacking my discs two deep in a standard bookshelf I’ve been hoping to find a shelving system for my blu ray disc collection that looks good and holds as many discs as this does. If I could change anything I wish the unit was 10cm taller overall which would allow more storage room to insert an additional two rows of discs. Based on a standard blu ray case size I can fit eight rows of discs but there is a bit of unused space between shelves. Apart from this one suggestion I am very happy with my purchase, and might even add a second unit in the future.
