Ketch Fir Wood & Mesh Wire Chicken Coop

We love our guineapig hutch and is a palace for our three pigs. However, I highly recommend doing the following two things to ensure it lasts a long time. 1. Cover the whole thing in marine grade varnish to enable the roof and wood to repel water/ rain. (It also looks super once its all shiny in the sun). 2. Install some structural support, I added some strong wood beams to the top and bottom of the outdoor frame and screwed firmly to the hutch to make it rigid and able to be lifted and moved without bending. You can see the dark wood in the photo if you look carefully. (Also the wood handle snapped after a while and we screwed on two metal handles we happened to have handy ).

A lot larger than what I thought it would be

Purchased just over 2 months ago, and it has already fallen apart with minimal usage. Timber has gone soft from rain, the ladder has broken & rooster in the inside part has fallen off. Save your money and buy something better.

Excellent hen house!! Super well packed and prepared, quite easy to erect, good size for 3 or 4 hens. Easy to move around the yard, love the grey and white colour. Very happy with the product for the price. Super fast delivery too. Highly recommended A++++++++++

Neat and tidy chicken coop. Easy enough to put together - light weight so I could do it alone (except carry it into its place, I got help for that). I have secured it to the ground because it's so light that it's easy to move off its foundations (we constructed a fox-proof foundation with chicken wire under the ground, joined to wooden panels). We've had to do some patching between the roof slats already, as gaps appeared within weeks, and we've added a roof over the outdoor area so our chicken's food doesn't get wet. We will repaint it all with waterproof paint as I don't think it will last long with the current paint, but it was really nice not to have to paint it first before putting it together. Instructions were easy enough to follow, all screws supplied and easy to locate and use. We swapped around where the main door goes because it fitted better that way with our existing outdoor set-up for our chicken - had to work a bit harder putting that section together because we there were therefore no pilot holes for the different layout of that wall, but all good. We like our new chicken coop (currently has one large-breed chicken in there and shes happy; wouldn't fit more than 2 large hens though I reckon, or maybe 4 or so smaller/layer hens). Happy with the product, even if we've had to make some edits to ensure its security and survival.

Love this product and chooks are happy. Could be a little sturdier for the tractor action.

There's a pair of doves that like to visit my balcony every day, this has made a great little house for them to hang out in. Exactly what I wanted :)

Not great quality, pieces came broken and bits broke as we built it. I doubt it will last more than a year or so and if we ever had to move it, I am sure it would fall apart. We live in a rental so it will need to be moved eventually. Cheap, flimsy wood. Looks great, though. Shame about the quality.

No point having mesh on sides if there's none on bottom. Foxes will get in. Wood is poor quality and porous. Looks like it will rot after a couple of months out in the weather. Pull out tray not square with tin falling out and not square so its like its jammed in there. Overall quality is 1/20. Still sitting inside so I can add bottom mesh and paint again. In no way is it ready to house chickens.

Easy to put together, looks great. Needed to adjust wheel height in order for the hutch to move smoothly. It is slightly flimsy depending on how much you move it around. Easy to clean as it has a pullout tray and laying box floor is removable.

Needed a few coats of paint but otherwise it is good!

Perfect Hamptons style coop for up to 2 chickens. My chicks feel very secure & is easy to clean & replenish food & water through multiple entries. Great to lift & relocate to new ground.

Was disappointed with the size. The description says it would house four hens, but our hens out grew it within weeks.

Well designed. Assembly instructions could be clearer. Considering this is a chook house the warning "don't leave in the sun or rain" is a bit odd and a little disturbing.

I bought the hutch for my 3 rescue chickens It didn't take long for them to get used to it and now they walk up the ramp to be locked in at night It's a good size and great drsign
