The bottom of the matter
The bottom 'bunk' is a double bed and it's not attached to the frame, so you have the freedom to arrange its position, whether it's parallel to the top bunk or at a 90 degree angle to it. You can even position it a separate from the bunk frame, which is ideal for accommodating different guests.

Very sturdy, very solid, takes a bit of time to assemble, but it's reassuring as you go to the process to see that it's a solid design. Please note for time management that the first bid (double bed) is a lot quicker to assemble than the bunk itself.

The bed itself is quite good and the instructions are fairly clear but some of the precut holes did not fit the metal insert so caused some damage during assembly unfortunately.

Not a sturdy bed. It’s not a solid wood bed. Instructions were hard to follow. Couple of screws were wrong. We needed to screw using our drill. Looks good but not a good quality piece.
