Absolutely love this coffee table set. The finish on the black piece is a wood grain textured laminate which you can make out on the image of the side, but it’s also the table top finish. The white piece top has a marble look laminate finish which is matte, not gloss. We really like the finishes, they look and feel high quality and hardy, easy to clean, show no smudge marks, and it’s a hard finish that won’t scratch or dent easily. The tables are sturdy and a good weight, not too heavy to move but won’t shift around accidentally. Per one other review, the black unit comes separate, the top needs to be assembled with 4 screws, Allen Key supplied, took a few minutes only. It is easiest to manoeuvre with 2 people to get that done and set up the tables as they’re not light. A couple of features I didn’t see mentioned that are very good: 1) The white table spins on the stand 360 deg, so the draws can always be accessed from any angle. It’s a very solid structure that doesn’t wobble at all, a really good tension on the turning so it won’t happen by accident but is very easy to move. 2) Both table’s frames have small adjustable feet to take away any wobble from uneven floors. Everything about this set is sturdy, strong and hard waring. The lift top locks into a firm position when raised, and has a soft close motion - you ease it back over and it lowers itself into the table top position. The draws on the white unit click into their closed position. The height of the black unit when closed is about that of a couch seat, which is perfect for our use. I do recommend mocking up an 80cm diameter round top at the 40cm height to check how it fits in your space. Love the set, highly recommend it.

Delivery & packaging was excellent - no damage. Easy to assemble & looks great. One minor issue is that the top surface is a bit rough and could have been sanded more smoothly before staining.

These are high quality coffee tables. The description says there is no assembly required, however this is not true. The metal frame that acts as the "legs" for the larger, black table need to be screwed into the base with an allen key. There is only one correct orientation to attach the base (see product images) and this is so the table doesn't fall over when using the pop-top table. Assembly isn't difficult, I just thought I'd let you know! :D Also, the pop-top seems to be heavy and a bit stiff. I think this will become easier to open with use. All in all, I am very happy with this purchase. The quality is high and the tables seem heavy duty.
