Assembly: The parts were engineered very well and the instructions were very clear. As a result it was exceptionally easy to assemble. However there was a bit of confusion as there were some washers which the instructions did not cover at least nowhere as many washers anywhere as many as there were in the package. I ended up leaving the majority of them off. One highlight is that as part of the package they included a spare allen-key driver with a handle. This was a godsend and I am glad they included it. I would have given it 5 stars if this review was all about the assembly alone. Quality: The texture on the wood is a bit too raw for my liking, compared to what I thought I was going to get from the photos, and the slats are far too thin. The overall quality seemed cheap, but then again you get what you pay for, I guess. The one thing that would have made me think twice had I seem it firsthand before purchase is the thinness of the slats which I suspect, based on my observation of the quality of the wood and experience with thicker slats, will eventually cave in over time. There is a thicker metal frame going down the middle lengthwise, and this will offset any depression down the middle of the bed from the weight of the mattress and long-term use, however ultimately this is not enough and the slats are thin enough that they will most likely eventually cave in irrespective of how much support the metal frame provides. I have taken off a whole star for this because to my mind this is a crucial component to the structure and durability of the frame. Considering the overall quality of the individual components, I'm unsure why aspect was overlooked, or perhaps it was deliberate in order to keep the price down. Either way it is a shame and this is what resulted in the second star being taken off. Price: Looking at the alternatives this was a very reasonably priced option, however as mentioned elsewhere you get what you pay for and low prices always means something has to give elsewhere in the process.
