About the Manufacturer
In 1920 Powel Crosley founded the company that pioneered radio broadcasting and mass market manufacturing around the world. Dismayed with the price tag for the radio receiver he promised to buy for his sonâs birthday, Crosley decided to make his own. Today the Crosley name lives on with superbly detailed replicas that truly transcend time. Reintroductions of original vintage radios and turntables feature the newest technologies graced by unforgettable Crosley stylings. Rich lines, retro designs and authentic crafting have made Crosley todayâs premier vintage electronics manufacturer. True to the Crosley tradition, these replicas are as fabulous as they are functional, providing a delightful dose of nostalgia.
Reviews
I installed this needle expecting sound. What I got was a spiritual intervention. Within seconds of dropping it onto a record, my lounge room expanded by at least 40 square metres. The bass didn’t hit — it negotiated. The highs were so crisp I briefly tasted alpine air. I’m fairly sure the drummer from a 1974 pressing of Rumours made eye contact with me and nodded in approval. Surface noise? Gone. Dust? Terrified into submission. My cat left the room out of respect. At one point I swear the stylus reached down into the grooves and forgave the vinyl for being handled by humans. Old records sounded new. New records sounded prophetic. I played a warped thrift-store copy of a jazz album and the needle straightened it emotionally. Downsides? • I now judge digital audio as “morally inferior.” • Friends won’t come over anymore because it “feels like being watched by the music.” • I caught myself apologising to the turntable for ever doubting it. Would I recommend this stylus? Only if you’re prepared to lose the ability to enjoy bad recordings and cheap wine. Buy it. But be warned: once you hear this needle, ignorance is no longer an option.
This is not what came in my order, it was a different crosley needle of worse quality
