Some might say that fluted furniture was a quick trend that has ran its course. But I whole heartedly disagree. Especially when going with a more monochrome aesthetic, finding creative ways to add texture into space is really essential to create visual interest. This is best exemplified with this black cabinet. It just looks awesome. Super sleek and modern design. Though there are a few things worth noting before I would recommend this purchase to others. First of all, I would not get this if you have a TV that is above 60 inches. Ours is a 60 and as you c an see it is a close fit. I would have preferred it if this unit came at 200cm wide rather than 180. As it really limits this to small to medium sized living rooms. While I do love that it has media cut outs behind every cupboard which is nice for hiding various media devices. I will say that the depth of the cabinet is a little on the small side. You may struggle to fit your larger devices in here, for example my PS3 (yes I'm old) had to be positioned sideways in order for the door to close properly. So if you are media focused I would say make sure that you measure up your devices + some extra gap for cable room before making the purchase. We got this in the black finish and from a distance it looks wonderful. However, it did come with a few little scuffs here and there. But wood is wood. That was bound to happen. It being a black surface, at close distance the dust can be quite noticeable at times. But you really can't fault this product for that. You can reasonably expect that from any black furniture. Overall, I would say the black finish is solid. Lastly, a few notes about the construction. It came 90% pre-assembled. All you have to do is install the legs. Pay particular attention to the grooves. I accidentally put these on backwards and as a result the screw hole became a bit loose. You may also find that the doors needs a little tuning to hang straight. And as a final piece of advice. I would recommend that you lift it instead of dragging it. The legs are sturdy but they may come loose if dragged across carpet. Overall, this is a solid and beautiful piece of furniture which can be recommended to those looking to achieve a relatively modern look who also have a modestly sized media setup. I really am only docking points because a little more cabinet width and especially depth would allow this to fit into more home setups without having to make as many sacrifices.

I love that this came fully assembled, except for the legs which just screwed on with no tools required. The magnets are very strong making it sometimes difficult to open the cupboards but probably a better problem than for them to be too weak! That’s the reason for the 4/5 stars. It is sturdy and looks great! |
