Hi Carolyn, Thank you for sharing your feedback and we're glad you like the look and quality of the lamps. Sorry to hear that you has trouble attaching the light bulb. We have contacted the supplier and they have confirmed they check all the lights before they are sent out and were able to put globes in each ok. As the shade is fixed to the base this is the only way to pop the globe in, so we hope that you have been able to since get it in. Warm regards, Temple & Webster
